Kids Are Heroes on YouTube!

November 29, 2008

We have had it suggested many times over that to best promote the web site we should have a channel on YouTube.  We came up with a cute idea for two promotional videos that would be fun to do, so we pushed forward. They are little skits in the style of the old TV cop show called “Dragnet”.  You younger folks may not be aware of this show but it was popular almost as much for its campiness as it was for the drama of the show itself.  Anyway, we had fun doing it so we came up with the video seen below.  The second “chapter” can be found on the Kids Are Heroes channel.  We added the skits plus found other videos from our heroes that we added to the Favorites section.  Feel free to suggest a video that we should add to this collection.

October Fountain Coins

Julia Gives to Toys for Tots
The FSK Mall in Frederick has generously donated their fountain coins from October to a charity that Julia Lemick holds dear to her heart.  She is seen here donating the check for $261.47 to the Toys for Tots campaign.

Check out the great article by Ike Wilson in the Frederick News-Post.

Santa has this area reserved for November and December, so check back in January when her sister Anna’s charity will be the recipient.

New Features

Check out the new ‘Hero Match’ games in the Kids section.  Print these out and match the hero to the story.  There is also a link to print out our logo which kids can color.  You may notice a new button at the bottom of some of the heroes’ stories.  Click the ‘Color Me’ button and a colorable PDF version of their picture will appear so that you can print it out for kids to color.  As time passes more and more heroes will have this ‘Color Me’ button enabled.  Enjoy!
